Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) is the collection and analysis of information gathered from publicly available sources and tools. Law enforcement OSINT requires not only the production of actionable intelligence but also to generate leads and provide evidence of crimes. This eight-hour training class is designed for beginning to intermediate law enforcement investigators and will introduce attendees to:
- Free investigative and analytical tools
- Social media investigative resources for Snapchat, TikTok, Telegram, Discord, and Reddit
- Online undercover do’s and don’ts
- Researching and analyzing YouTube videos and accounts
- Email and internet protocol address tracing
- Investigating websites
- People, email address, phone number, and username searches
- Advanced internet searching and internet evidence preservation
- Sources of information for businesses and non-profit organizations
